Our Impact
At STEM-n-STONE, our mission is to expand access to meaningful S.T.E.A.M. learning (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) by bringing innovative educational experiences to communities that have historically been underserved. Through professional development, program design, and collaborative partnerships, we work to reimagine what learning can look like for both students and educators.
Last year, we partnered with community organizations and schools to design and implement impactful learning opportunities, including a five-day summer S.T.E.M. camp for students ages 7–11 in collaboration with the City of Evanston at Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center. We also partnered with Thornton Fractional South High School (District 215) to support their pre-service teacher training program for students ages 14–18, helping to inspire the next generation of educators. In addition, STEM-n-STONE had the honor of delivering a memorable commencement address to graduating seniors at Truman College’s Middle High School, encouraging students to step boldly into their next chapter.
Through consulting and collaborative program development, STEM-n-STONE has partnered with organizations such as 10StoryLearning, LLC, District 65 Schools, EvanSTEM, YMCA MetaMedia, Evanston Public Library, and Northwestern University’s Office of Community Education Partnerships (OCEP) to help launch a citywide 6th Grade Invention Convention, engaging nearly 900 sixth-grade students in hands-on innovation and problem solving.
These partnerships represent our commitment to empowering young thinkers, supporting educators, and strengthening learning communities through creativity, design thinking, and S.T.E.A.M.
We look forward to helping make a positive impact in your learning community.
